Creamy Linguine with Clams

2 tbsp olive oil
1 large clove garlic - crushed
2 green onions chopped
1/4 green pepper chopped
2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped fine
1 5oz can baby clams
2 tbsp dry white wine
3 tbsp chicken broth
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp bouquet garni or italian spice
1/2 lb linguini noodles
125g pkg cream cheese
1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan


In medium size saucepan saute garlic in olive oil. Be careful not to burn. Immediately add onion, green pepper and parsley. Cook on low for 2 to 3 minutes. Add clams and their juice, then wine, chicken broth, herbs and spices. Simmer for 25 minutes. Add sliced mushrooms and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Cut cream cheese into small chunks and add to clam mixture. Cook till cheese melts. Cook pasta and drain. Pour sauce over pasta then add parmesan cheese and mix. Let pasta mixture sit for 3-5 minutes before serving to thicken sauce.
