2 1/2 cup flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
5 Tbsp. sugar
1 cup whole milk
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly.
Add sugar and toss with a fork. Add milk. Mix with a fork to make a soft dough. Divide into 3 parts, pat each into a circle. Cut into 6 to 8 pie shaped wedges. Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 350 for 12-15 mins., until golden brown.
Makes 18-24 scones.
You may also add 1 Tbsp. grated lemon or orange rind to the flour.
Or add 1/2 cup currants, dried cranberries, blueberries etc….
